All sewer services in Atlantic City
Seven services cover nearly every sewer problem a property in Atlantic City will have, and most jobs use two or three of them in sequence. This page describes each one briefly, names the defect it addresses, and points to the full page for details.
Sewer camera inspection
The inspection is the service every other one depends on. A self-leveling camera head is pushed through the lateral from a cleanout or a pulled toilet, and a locator above ground follows its sonde to mark the pipe's path and depth on the pavement. In Atlantic City the inspector is watching for three things in particular: the waterline rising in the lens, which marks a belly; water entering through a joint, which marks tidal infiltration; and sand on the invert, which marks a joint that has opened to the fill. The recording and a written summary are what the quote is built from.
Hydro jetting
Jetting sends water at several thousand pounds of pressure through a nozzle that pulls itself up the line while blasting the wall behind it. It clears grease from restaurant drains, cuts roots at mainland clay joints, and flushes the sand and sediment that storm surge and ordinary infiltration leave in island laterals. It is both a maintenance service on its own and the required preparation before any liner goes in, since a liner will not bond to a dirty wall. Jetting is not used on pipe the camera shows to be fragile, because the pressure can finish what corrosion started.
Sewer pipe lining
Lining rebuilds a lateral from the inside by curing a resin-filled sleeve against the existing wall. The result is a jointless pipe with a slightly smaller bore and a much smoother surface, and it is the main tool for stopping groundwater infiltration in the clay and cast iron laterals under the island's older neighborhoods. It handles cracks, open joints, scaled iron and Orangeburg that has not yet flattened. Lining follows the pipe's existing grade, so it is paired with a spot repair wherever the camera finds a belly deep enough to matter. The method is described in detail, with the standards behind it, at the CIPP reference.
Sewer pipe bursting
Bursting is the trenchless replacement option. A cone-shaped head is pulled through the old lateral from a pit at the main to a pit at the house, splitting the pipe outward into the sand while towing a new fused polyethylene line behind it. It is the answer when a lateral is crushed, badly ovaled, collapsed in places or too small for the building it serves, and it can upsize the pipe in the same pass. Two small pits replace a full-length trench, which on a rowhouse block means the sidewalk is patched rather than removed. Sand fill around the old pipe makes bursting easier here than in rocky ground.
Sectional point repair
Point repair is lining in miniature. A short sleeve, usually two to six feet, is saturated with resin, carried into the lateral on a packer, inflated at the exact location the camera marked and cured in place. It fixes a single cracked joint, a short offset, a root hole or a damaged branch connection without treating the full run. On a lateral that is otherwise in good shape, it is the least expensive permanent repair available, and it is used on commercial building drains the same way.
Trenchless sewer repair as a whole
Trenchless sewer repair is the umbrella term for lining, bursting and point repair used together with inspection and jetting. The page on that service explains how the methods are chosen for a given lateral and why no-dig work is particularly well suited to a barrier island where every trench fills with water. The installer behind this site, the verified installer covering Atlantic City, is the contractor that provides the full set for Atlantic City and the mainland towns of Atlantic County, under the state plumbing permit and the municipal road-opening permit that New Jersey requires.
Sewer pipe repair, including excavation
Some problems still call for a shovel. A deep belly must be re-bedded, a fully collapsed section must be removed, and a lateral that has separated from the main needs a new tap. The conventional repair page covers how those jobs are done on the island, including dewatering a pit in tidal sand, shoring it, and restoring a municipal sidewalk under the road-opening permit. In practice most such jobs are hybrids, with one small pit for the dig and a liner through everything else. Readers outside this territory can find vetted installers through the verified installer directory.

Questions
Which service do I need?+
Nobody can tell from a symptom alone. A slow drain in Atlantic City may be a belly, a root, a sand bar or a collapsed section, and each calls for a different fix. The camera inspection is the service that answers the question, which is why it comes first on every job.
Is jetting a repair?+
No. Jetting restores flow by clearing what is in the pipe, and it is also the cleaning step before lining. It does not close a crack, lift a sag or stop tidal infiltration. If the camera shows a defect after jetting, one of the repair services follows.
Does every lateral qualify for trenchless work?+
Most do, but not all. A line that has fully collapsed over a long length, or one with a deep belly that holds water, needs at least a short excavation. The inspection identifies which sections can be rehabilitated from inside and which cannot, and the quote reflects that mix.
Who does the work?+
The Trenchless Team is the installer behind this site for Atlantic City and the surrounding towns in Atlantic County. The work is done under a licensed master plumber and a municipal permit as New Jersey requires, with the camera, jetting, lining and bursting equipment on the same crew.
How do I get a price?+
Pick up the phone and dial (877) 739-3789, or use the contact form. After the camera visit the footage is explained, and a written quote follows that names the services needed and the length each covers. Estimates are free; call now.
